The youth is constantly looking for tales that reflect their individual goals. They desire confirmation that their ideas have a chance of materialising while others are simply looking for something to motivate them to follow unorthodox pathways.

In India, aspiring entrepreneurs are always looking for role models and success stories to motivate and guide them. There are tons of success stories from different websites about joining their tribe or affiliate program. We don’t value most of the stories. In order to make our own business successful, we want to learn from real-life success stories.

In India, there are countless tales of people who started with nothing and went on to achieve greatness in their careers. Big Basket, Swiggy, Nykaa, Paytm, Ola, and Oyo Rooms are just a few instances of great new age firms that have grown significantly in popularity and success in a short period since their founding. Businesses such as Reliance and Infosys took years of hard work and labour to reach the place they are at today. This article brings to you some inspiring successful entrepreneurial journeys of Indian entrepreneurs.

Ola Cab was established by Bhavesh Agarwal in 2010 and is well known to all. The organisation came up with a fantastic answer to the issue of transportation for those who don’t prefer to use public transport. Those without private vehicles can book a cab in a matter of seconds and travel in the car of their choice. The business is a pioneer in its field. It offers customers services at fair prices.

Some frequent inconvenient experiences while travelling from Bangalore to Bandipur made Bhavish Aggarwal think about a solution that will make the voyages smoother for people and this is how he founded Ola cabs with co-founder Ankit Bhati.

The company reported a profit of Rs.90 crores in the financial year 2020-2021. It has over 15 lakh driver accomplices and has about 60% market share in India.

Graduated from IIT Bombay, the founders became the Youngest Billionaire of India at the age of 25 and 26 years respectively.

    Oyo Rooms

The presence that this organisation has made in hospitality is commendable. ‘On Your Own’ popularly known as OYO was founded by Ritesh Agarwal in 2013. Ritesh dropped out of college and went on to establish Oracle Stays at just 17 years of age in 2011 and relaunched it as OYO hotels and homes in 2013.

Ritesh Agarwal was declared as World’s Second Youngest Self-made billionaire in 2020.

Ritesh was one of the few who managed to receive the ‘Thiel Fellowship’ in which he was provided all the necessary financial capital and other resources to start a company.

Today, OYO Rooms is one of the World’s fastest-growing chains of hotels. The company provides affordable hotels and living spaces to its clients.

In Dec 2019, OYO was declared the World’s second largest hotel chain organisation with more than 40,000 hotels associated with it.

This is one of the most incredible success stories of all time and the growth that the startup has made is phenomenal.

    Paytm

This application has made transactions so much easier and the pockets a little lighter. Remember the time when people had to dash to shops asking for change to pay the rickshaw driver or when forgetting their wallet at home felt like your life had come to an end. People no longer have to worry about all these things because ‘Pay through Mobile’ or Paytm is right here on your phone to make transactions no matter how big or small.

Vijay Shekhar Sharma, the founder of Paytm was born in Aligarh. His father was a school teacher and he didn’t have the finances to support the big goals of Vijay yet the founder went on to fulfil his ambitions, even if the circumstances were not in his favour.

From earning Rs.10,000 a month at 27 years of age to becoming India’s second youngest billionaire, Vijay Shekhar Sharma is an inspiration to all.

    Swiggy

Founded by three friends, Nandan Reddy, Sriharsha Majety and Rahul Jain, Swiggy has made a place in people’s hearts. The food delivery startup was started by these friends by delivering food to their acquaintances and nearby restaurants. They started the company with very minimal resources and today the start-up has raised funding of over $1 billion.

Today, the company has over 50,000 restaurant partners and has revolutionised the food delivery industry.

After facing failure in their previous venture called ‘Bundle’ l, the boys launched Swiggy in August 2014. Teamwork, patience, and hard work are what led to the huge success of Swiggy. Such success stories are a motivating factor for aspiring entrepreneurs.

Even after failing at their first endeavour, the founders did not give up and went on to establish India’s fastest-growing startup.

    Nykaa

The brand is one of the top competitors in India’s cosmetic industry. Falguni Nayar founded Nykaa in 2012. Before establishing the platform, Nayar worked as a Managing director at Kotak Mahindra. In the beginning, the company started as an online business and later expanded its roots to multiple channels. The brand specialises in beauty and personal care products. Today, the organisation has over 80 stores all over the country and has partnerships with over 500 brands.

The company made an annual revenue of around Rs.32 billion in the fiscal year 2022.

    Zomato

    Source: Zomato

The name Foodiebay isn’t familiar to anyone. While Deepinder Goyal founded Foodiebay, he is better known for Zomato, the rebranded version. In the beginning, Zomato was a website for food reviews. We encouraged food bloggers to write honest reviews of the quality and service at each restaurant. Additionally, Deepinder’s coworkers requested menu cards from the company, which led to the launch of Zomato. Previously, he worked for Bain and Company after graduating from IIT Delhi.

As the saying goes, hard work pays off. When Zomato first started, they didn’t have enough money. We all know that Zomato is a big success nowadays. In the previous decade, Deepinder has become one of India’s most famous food entrepreneurs.

In addition to India, the corporation has operations in Portugal, New Zealand, and Qatar. As we all know, Zomato’s marketing campaign is one of its most significant advantages. Your mother tongue will receive full urge messages once the notification goes on, supporting the company’s growth in the future as well.

Zomato has also bought Urbanspoon and it has launched a new business of meal delivery in Australia and the United States. It has also entered into the digital marketing world. This permitted the firm to widen without incurring into new expenses.
